Charles Eden 2011 Guild Award Winners

Members of The Guild of Property Professionals from across the UK came together at The Millennium Hotel in Mayfair, London on Wednesday 6th July 2011 for their annual conference, and to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its network of independent estate agent members.

Awards were announced and presented at a glamorous gala banquet which ran late into the evening. Charles Eden of Beckenham were the proud recipients of the Member of the Year “Best in Class” for the Southern Region. The awards ceremony and gala dinner followed the exciting National Conference in which Guild agents came together for a day of presentations and seminars, sharing knowledge and tips on best practice covering a wide spectrum of topics including; IT, Trust & Confidence, PR & Media, Marketing, Referrals, and Presenting Property Professionally.

Presenting the awards to the winners was Marcus Whewell, CEO of The Guild of Property Professionals who commented:“I am delighted to be celebrating the outstanding achievements of our member agents who are great ambassadors for the industry. The exceptional quality of the award entries this year is most encouraging and rewarding as it indicates that the best agents are constantly innovating to give the highest levels of marketing and service to their clients. Charles Eden is a wholly independent, estate agency, based in Beckenham and covering the surrounding area including Shortlands, Anerley & Penge. With over 100 years combined estate agency experience within the office they have always strived to be at the forefront of the industry being one of the first agencies to become fully licensed by the National Association of Estate Agents and having every member of staff pass the Guild Estate Agency exams to become Guild Associates. Justin Flanagan, the Managing Director of Charles Eden attended the annual conference with Sales Manager Anthony Carey. Justin said: "It's a great honour to win these awards as I truly believe that Guild Members represent the best of independent Estate Agency, which was very evident by the turn out at the Guild Annual Conference. I'd like to thank The Guild and its members for their support and advice which has enabled Charles Eden to raise its standards, increase its services and grow in these uncertain times. I feel that we have tough yet exciting times ahead in a rapidly changing industry."

Adding to the evening’s excitement was a charity raffle and auction which raised a staggering £6,020 for the Estate Agency Foundation www.eafcharity.org. Generous auction donations included a week's stay at the Four Seasons Resort in Chiang Mai, Thailand (donated by Newton Fallowell), a box at the Beverly Knight concert at The Albert Hall (donated by The Digital Property Group) and a VIP race day at Fontwell Park Race Course.
